Aishah RA reports:
"Rasulullah SAW kissed the forehead of Uthman bin Maz'un after his death. At that time tears were flowing from his eyes."
Uthman bin Maz'un RA was a foster brother of Rasulullah SAW. He was the thirteenth person to accept Islam in its early stages. He first migrated to Abyssinia then to Madinah. It is known that he was very pious and devoted. At the time when the command of Allah to prohibit alcohol was revealed, and it was still lawful to drink intoxicants, Uthman bin Maz'un RA had already abstained from imbibing it. He was the first among the Muhajireen to pass away; and he died in the month of Sha'baan in the second year Hijri and was buried in Jannatul Baqi - the graveyard of the Sahabah RA beside Masjid Nabawi.
