Quick Hadith 106

Abu Hurairah RA narrates that Rasulullah SAW said:

"May the slave of Dinaar (gold coin) and the slave of Dirham (silver coin) and the slave of Khamisa (expensive clothing) be destroyed. (Only) If he is given (any materialistic) thing does he get pleased and if he is not given (any materialistic thing) he gets angry. May he (really) be destroyed and when he is pricked (by a thorn) may it not be removed. Fortunate is that slave who holds the reigns of his horse in the path of Allah, his hair is scattered, his feet is dusty (inferior in the sight of worldly people but he is so sincere that), if he is (appointed) to be in the frontline of the army, he (accepts) being in the frontline and if he is (appointed) to be in the Saaqah (last part of the army) he accepts being in the last part of the army. (He has no recognition in the sight of worldly to the extent that if he seeks permission (to enter a home), he is not give permission and if he intercedes, (his intercession) is not accepted. (Mishkaat, Qadeemi)
