Death Of A Non-Muslim Mother

Would It Be Permissible To Attend Her Funeral / Burial?

The Fuqaaa (jurists) have ruled that if a non-Muslim passes away and there is no one to attend to the burial proceedings besides a Muslim relative, then the Muslim relative will be excused for this attendance.

Hence, if there are people to attend to the burial proceedings, then thereis no excuse for the Muslim relative to attend.

However, due to circumstances, there could be an exemption to the prohibition. Consultation should be made with the local Ulama in such situations.
