Compulsary Surahs & Verses In Solat

In solat, Surah Al-Fatihah must be recited in every raka'at with another surah. This surah could be an entire surah or at least three short verses or at least one long verse.

When performing solat behind the Imam, then we keep silent while the Imam recites.

For those following the Shafi'i school of fiqh, the followers of the Imam will recite Al-Fatihah after the Imam's Ameen i.e. when he pauses for a while.
